Weekend as locals

Last weekend Krisanne and I felt like locals. We started the weekend by going to Mike's "corner bar" (Marino's) on Friday night. Thinking we were going to go for A drink (since we were both in our pajamas before we decided to go). This bar ended up being a karoke bar, and if any of you know Krisanne...well, she HEARTS karoke! Well, we ended up staying there until about 1am. The highlight was Krisanne singing "King Tut", and acting it out! We had a great time, and meeting a couple of Mike's friends was blast.

AND, I (Krisanne) am not going to let Jenny get by without mentioning her Duet Debut: Yellow Submarine and her Encore Trio: The Devil Went Down to Georgia. We sounded awesome.

Saturday was very low key...we spent the entire day doing taxes, getting caught up on laundry, etc. (Nothing eventful that day...but productive)

Sunday, Krisanne and I got up and went to church, followed by yummy homemade omelets! Then, we took off for South Mountain for a little afternoon hike. Ok, so it ended up being about a 4 hour hike! We weren't exactly sure where we were going, so we began driving, following the signs for "Summit" thinking it may lead us to the summit trail. Well, it actually led us on Summit road which is a road that literally winds up the mountain side. Pretty cool, but kind of scary (more with the other drives coming down at you). So, we found a trail we thought we could go on for a few hours; the National Trail (14 miles long, one way). So we parked in a random parking lot and thought we would be able to walk right up to the trail. Well, we had to trail-blaze a bit to find it.








Finally...we were on it! The trail was awesome in that it rode the ridge of the mountains.











While on the trail, we thought we would take on an additional challenge. Bull Riding! Ok, so the real challenge was to set the timer on the camera, run to the "bull", jump onto it, and throw the arm in the air. After about 3 tries...I got it!









Also, Krisanne was taking out some aggression and decided to push over a cactus!











We walked for about 2 hours, than turned around and came back, so no...we didn't do the entire 14 mile hike! However at our turning around point, we went off trail again. When we came back to the trail, we weren't sure which direction we were going. We walked past this marker 3 times before we knew for sure we were going the right direction. Good thing they have numbers on them so you know!











Krisanne and I also found a hobby we would like to try sometime...literal Mountain Biking! It looked challenging and was interesting to watch the way they can maneuver around big rocks and the trail in general. Another hike recommended by us...too many to choose from!!
